STATEMENT

Consider these characters as forms of reaction. Bodies of their environment, shaped by the rebounding pressure and our warped perception that binds the female body. These are the witches we have made. Not the witches of fairy tales but the women who existed beneath. Reactions to the primitive accumulation that stole the freedom of subsistence. I am looking at the female body in direct connection to land and the loss of free public lands. These are my witches, women who have morphed beyond fantasy, who take up space, who become what is unknown, inspired by undesirable ruin, made of found materials that are no longer free but instead have been taken from abandoned private lands.
